Tunnel Underground Installation Plaster, Fiberglass, Rope, Life Belongings (1970-1999)
To mark the passing of an era in my life, I constructed an underground one-person civilization. This tranquil water drainage tunnel became the resting place for my entire collection of physical belongings from the first 29 years of my life as well as life-sized sculptures of myself, influential peers, and muses. I shared the Tunnel with thirteen people, locked it up, and left it and everything in it for adventurers to discover. It was accessible through a manhole cover and became a destination for urban spelunkers near and far.
